The Law (Chapter 188)
Governor Healey's Chapter 188 removes all legal limits on abortions, allowing them at any stage of pregnancy and for any reason. The law even removes the requirement that they be performed in an appropriate medical setting. Zero oversight. Zero safety standards. The law allows the needless killing of viable babies and puts women's safety at risk. Help us get our question on the ballot to overturn this disastrous law!
The Goal
A suspend and repeal referendum is a powerful constitutional tool that allows voters to pause a newly passed law from taking effect until a statewide vote can be held. If we reach our threshold of 49,716 certified voter signatures by the November 6 deadline, Chapter 188 will be suspended pending the outcome of the 2028 election, giving Massachusetts voters the final say.
